The hiking in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains is outstanding.  There are hundreds of trails in the Pisgah and Nantahala National Forests that blanket the mountains.  North Carolina also has fantastic state forests, such as DuPont State Recreational Forest, and it boasts the iconic Smoky Mountain National Park, which it shares with neighboring Tennessee.  We spent years visiting North Carolina and exploring its great trails.  The articles below describe some of our favorite trails so that you, too, can discover the magic that is the mountains of North Carolina.
