Washington is a backpacker’s paradise.  It boasts three iconic national parks, Rainier, Olympic, and North Cascades, as well as innumerable national forests and other public lands.  The scenery is world class, ranging from the volcanoes of the Cascades to the rain forests of Olympic.  There are virtually an unlimited number of opportunities to go backpacking in Washington.  Some of our favorite backpacking locations are below.  Click on the links for some basic information, maps, and a photo essay of the location.
