Backpack to see the beauty which surrounds us in the wilderness. Seriously, throw on a backpack to discover its many wonders.
BACKPACK TO SEE NATURE’S ACHIEVEMENT
Wildfires, avalanches, erosion, flooding, and tectonic movements of the earth all destroy, but also create the glorious landscapes through which we travel. Waterfalls, lakes, ponds, creeks, and streams dot and twist through a landscape designed perfectly by tectonics, time, and erosion all patiently working their magic on the land. These forces also provide what nature needs to survive and thrive.
Nature’s triumphant renewal is evident in new growth emerging from the scorched soils left behind by wildfire. Periodic flooding deposits nutrient rich sediments to feed the soil and promote new life. The mountain ranges and valleys though which we travel are the crowning jewels of the destructive forces which reshaped the land long ago. When we go backpacking, we get to witness these beautiful triumphs of nature up close and personal as they have, and as they continue, to unfold.
BACKPACK FOR BEAUTIFUL TRANQUILITY
Nothing compares to the serenity of nature far from the reaches of mankind. Hours stretch into days as we travel further from the reaches of man and experience a quiet like no other.
The stillness and the energy of nature harmonize beautifully in the wilderness. The sounds we hear belong to nature and to us. Winds whisper overhead, whipping around craggy rocks, and sashaying through wispy grasses and vibrant wildflowers. Water splashes and gurgles over rocks and logs. The sights and sounds are both fleeting and timeless. Wildlife pays us little heed as it goes about its business of hunting and foraging. Trees change their foliage finery with the season. Gigantic rocks teeter precariously, or lie strewn across the ground jumbled and thrown about like pebbles, adding their touches to the beauty which surrounds the backpacker.
The silence and the sounds alike embrace us with a peacefulness which permeates deeply. That’s backpacking at its finest. That’s backpacking to see the beauty.
