As with kids, outventuring with dogs presents its own challenges. Even when permitted in campgrounds, they are almost never permitted on beaches or in public buildings (with legal exemptions for service dogs). Further, restrictions for dogs exist on some trails, most notable are National Parks which typically do not allow dogs on trails. Beyond this, however, there are trails that are not suitable for your dog due to terrain, animal life and pests, heat, or the dog’s physical strength and stamina. Properly researching the trails on which you will outventure with your dog will make the difference between a nightmare experience and a good time for all.
