Overview

Located 20 miles north of Moab and next to Arches National Park, the Klondike Bluffs mountain bike trail system offers great riding for mountain bikers of all levels.  Even in a mountain biking mecca like Moab, with many outstanding systems to choose from, Klondike Bluffs should not be missed.

The Klondike Bluffs Mountain Biking Trails System

The Klondike Bluffs mountain bike trail system offers 12 beginner, 13 intermediate, and 11 expert trails.  This variety of trails offers something for riders at all levels.

The beginner trails are sweet, flowy cross country trails with buff singletrack.  A particularly fun beginner trail is Jurassic.  It can be accessed from a variety of beginner trails or double track and will make you feel like you are in prehistoric times as you cruise along the trail’s flowy singletrack.

The intermediate trails at Klondike Bluffs offer a nice mix of singletrack, slickrock, and level appropriate technical challenges.  A particularly good intermediate trail is Dino Flow.  The trail is long, with just the right technical challenges for intermediate riders.  For extra fun, ride it outbound and return on Jurassic.  Jurassic is a beginner trail, but its still a ton of fun for riders of all levels.

The advanced at Klodike Bluffs will test your skills with technical rock gardens, ledge drops, and a good amount of slickrock (this is Moab after all!).  EKG, the longest advanced trail at Klondike, is a lot of fun to ride and has some good technical challenges for advanced riders.  As a tip, you might want to simply pick up sections of the trail and combine it with other trails that interest you.  Riding the entire length of the trail becomes somewhat redundant, taking some of the fun out of the trail.

To us, the standout advanced trail at Klondike Bluffs is Mega Steps.  It has sweet singletrack, in addition to the slickrock riding that is prevalent throughout the system.  As a bonus, the top of the trail offers outstanding views of the back side of the system, including Arches National Park in the distance.

Why You Shouldn’t Miss the Klondike Bluffs Mountain Biking Trails System

In an area that has outstanding mountain biking, it can be difficult to choose what to fit into a vacation.  With views of Arches and the La Sal mountains off in the distance and 50+ miles of excellent trail to ride, however, the Klondike Bluffs mountain biking trails system is not to be missed.  Riders can easily stick to beginner and/or intermediate trails by choosing appropriate routes and experts can ride it all (if stamina allows).   The ability of riders at all levels to access this system, its proximity to Moab, and the quality of the trails all put this system towards the top of the Moab list for most mountain bikers.  We are sure you will have a blast here, we always do!
